{it's been a while}

Ok, so I'm sorry, I'm a slacker! I must admit I don't know what to write on this blog most of the time : )

I have received many questions on my new place, so here are the answers for ya:

*Back Porch Memories will be expanding its' horizons here in Fairbanks! I am not planning on a 'regular retail store' but I will be hosting crops and classes and will have much more inventory available there than online. Although, I will also be expanding my online offerings as well. If you are looking for something be sure to contact me, I may have it or can certainly get it for you.

*Nope, the space is not in my home. That is one adjustment I am having to make. I was used to being able to work any hours of the night I wanted in my jammies! I am sure I will learn to be much more productive..... {yeah, right}

*I am hoping to post some pictures of the progress soon. 'They' are suppose to take out all of those booths and chairs this next week. WOOHOO! And I am hoping to order all of the tables and chairs this week, too.

*Having products shipped to me from the vendors is proving to be a challenge! I will have to be very creative.

It hasn't actually been too terribly cold. It was nice over Thanksgiving, warmer here than where I moved from!

Today the sunrise was at 10:14 am and the sun will set at 3:05 pm. Three weeks until the shortest day of the year, then we are on the up swing!

You know that feeling of having so much to do and being so overwhelmed with something that you just don't know where to even start? That's where I am now. I found a home for Back Porch Memories, it has so much potential but it sure needs a lot of work. It will be so fun to have a place to have crops and classes!





It is so cold here, can you believe it has already been below zero? Our house is on the lake and it is already frozen, ackkk! I can hardly wait until winter, lol.

Happy Halloween! We didn't know what to expect here for trick-or-treaters, but we didn't have any at all! I have treat to give away anyway - kem1223 email meto claim your prize! I figure since it is Halloween, one more Rusty Pickle Halloween album is in order.

I have been looking, looking, looking for a place to house Back Porch Memories and I am happy to say that I finally moved all of my stuff in today! It needs lots of work but I have quite a bit of room to play with. I will take some pictures and post them for you all to see, I will try to do it tomorrow. It will be fun to see the progress over the next few months!

Thanks so much for all of your encouragement during this gigantic move! You girls rock!

{i made it}

First things first: I promised a drawing for a $20 gift certificate and it goes to Jenni G - Jenni, email me to claim your prize!

We had a nice surprise! Scott's company wanted him back up her as quick as possible so they sent someone down to help load the truck and drive it and the trailer up here so we could fly! Of course that means you don't get to see pictures of the drive up, but we were thrilled : )

We left Billings, MT yesterday where it was a nice 75 degrees. When we got to Faibanks last night it was 10 degrees and snowing! It never got out of the teens today... And to answer the next question, it is getting light a little after 9am and gets dark about 6pm, but we are losing 7 minutes of daylight a day right now.

I am looking at places here to move Back Porch Memories into, it is an exciting time! I have had so much fun giving things away and getting to 'know' you all that I am going to keep drawing names for prizes! I will draw one a week from all the posts since the last drawing. The day will be different each week so make this a quick daily stop to check in.

{mostly packed up}

We are mostly packed now, so I will have cut off shipping now. All of the orders up until this point will be shipped by tomorrw. Any new orders that come in will not be shipped until I am somewhat settled in Fairbanks. I am hoping by the end of next week!

We are so close to leaving, but I still have so much packing to do!
